Financial contributions
are always welcome. Running a troop involves a number of expenses:
Registration, equipment purchase, repair and replacement,
instructional and meeting supplies, transportation, training, and
more. If you wish to make a financial donation, you may pay by credit card here, or checks should be
made payable to "Scouts BSA Troop 292" and sent to
following address:
Camp Scholarships: If you'd like to sponsor a
scout at summer camp, or contribute toward our campership fund,
send a check as detailed above but indicate that it's intended for
campership use. Depending on the program, summer camp costs $620-
$640 per week for the scouts. They participate in several
fundraisers during the year to offset that fee, but it's still the
largest expense a scout and his family have to deal
with.
Equipment Donation: If you have serviceable
camping gear (backpacks, sleeping bags, foam mats, etc.) please
feel free to contact us. We frequently have scouts in need of
equipment who could benefit from your donations. We'd be glad to
see if your equipment would fit our program.
Uniforms: If you have a recent Boy Scout
uniform that you'd like to donate, contact us. Scouts are
constantly outgrowing their uniforms and new ones are fairly
expensive. We maintain a "uniform bank" of outgrown uniforms (as
well as other outdoor clothing) that Scouts in need can draw from.
(Please note that uniform designs change frequently; if you
have an older, historic uniform you might consider donating it to
the Lawrence
L. Lee Scouting Museum at Camp
Carpenter.)
